Ugly tomato

What the??????? The two tomatoes in question were the most beautifully flawless orange, egg shaped, Heirloom tomatoes ever.. (I would have taken pictures as proof, but I didn't have my camera with me and I was hungry so I ate them).. they were very tasty… not "ugly" why would they be coded as "ugly"?

Ice coffee with Kahlua … it's foamy because Jay shook it in a martini shaker… I prefer my martini like drinks stirred not shaken… but then again I can wait for the foam to go away…

mmmmm Dairy Queen

cherry sundae and a chocolate cone… so delicious…

The water features are finally on

Dinner: Friday June 15th, 2007 (Guests: Kinga, Lisa, Jay and I)

Dinner was so delicious, and I took such crappy pictures … only two are worth posting. We had:

Mushroom toast: sautéed chanterelles, morels, shitake, oyster, cremini and button mushrooms, served on potato bread, topped with a soft poached egg, truffle oil, and a touch of cracked black pepper.

For dessert Jason's divine Key Lime Pie… made with actual key limes.

All accompanied with a bottle of pink wine of some kind.

Jay came home today with my favorite flower… Peonies.. they smell heavenly….

Rose in my parent's front yard

International Kid's Day BBQ..

So I might be in the last day's of my twenties.. my older sister broke her 30 barrier last year.. and Kinga will be in a couple of years... only Karolina has a decade before that major milestone, but to our parents (and I'm sure this is true for most parents out there) we will always be looked at as kids and not so much as grown up, independent, career oriented individuals.. June 1st is the International Kid's Day (in case you didn't know).. we couldn't all get together that day, but this past weekend we had a BBQ to celebrate. Maybe no so much being children anymore but hey we all have an inner child, don't we?.. :)... Food was amazing (executed by Karolina)... Jay made a key lime pie which was also fabulous... We had drinks, we had conversation, and at the end of the day we got boxes of chocolates... Spending a whole day in the back yard exhausted Honey and Cherry, they were out in no time once we got home.

Fresh crab croissant sandwiches and cucumber salad... yummy

Tornado like weather...

It happened yesterday. They interrupted Oprah to inform anyone watching that we are expecting severe rain and tornado like weather. Hamilton was supposedly going to get hit the hardest with the possibility of hail. It did get pretty bad, the sky was kind of grumpy all day, but in seconds it got really really dark. The actual storm was preceded by very strong wind that stirred up a lot of dust... kind of beautiful. Then the rain came.. hard.. Cherry of course started her heavy breathing and running around.. even Honey started to bark until I picked her up. Traffic was crazy.. rush hour.. I felt sorry for all those people, the wind was so strong it picked up a lot of trash across the street from the construction site and all of it was just flying around. But eventually the storm ended, and the world looked so sparkly clean and refreshed.
