I am so making a pie....

on its way to becoming sauce...

flowers from a farmer's market (6 for $4.00)

probiotic frozen yoghurt

a little bit of a healthy treat... light, refreshing, with a nice lemony aftertaste

pretty lights

lunch on Wednesday...

We went to Bayview Village mall.... a very unusual shopping experience... this place doesn't have a food court or most of the stores you'd find in an ordinary place... we had a walk around anyways and lunched at Oliver & Bonacini Cafe Grill. The food was a bit of a hit and a bit of a miss...it was past noon so we decided on some refreshments, a beer for Jay and a citrusy white Sangria for me...
I chose Jump's Original Grilled Calamari with anchovies, capers, tomatoes, and black olives in a lemon brown butter sauce as my appetizer... a total hit
Jay had a small Caesar Salad with ciabatta croutons, Parmiagiano-Reggiano and creamy garlic dressing... very nice as well
then we both had burgers...
Jay had The Classic Burger: 8oz of flame broiled lean ground Canadian beef with fiery tomato salsa, dill pickle, fries and coleslaw ... fries were a disappointment as was the meat... it looked and tasted like something you'd get out of a supermarket freezer, did not have the appearance of house made...
my burger on the other hand was a total hit (well except for the fires... they were limp)... I had the Grilled Chicken Burger: lean ground chicken, peameal bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo, served with fries and coleslaw

Tuesday dinner

I thought it up... and Jay executed it (well except for the tomato sauce, I made that a couple of days ago with the fabulous tomatoes from my parents' backyard)... he's the best... I think we have telepathic taste buds... this was soooo good...

first sign of fall...

oh it's real...

isn't that nice

refreshing gelati somewhere in Mount Pleasant

for me: a mix of amaretto and cassata...for Jay a combination of hazelnut and tiramisu...
delish...

two of our most famous landmarks

Lake Ontario...

an underwater garden...sun reflecting off the surface... it looks like a night sky...

late lunch on Monday with Jay

after a blissful hour at Hammam Spa... we crossed the street and ended up at the Bier Markt which opened a couple of weeks ago. I have finally learned to enjoy beer, and this place is great, great selection, and each brew served in it's own glass...

the name of the bier is written on the glass... mine looked more like a cocktail :)a basket of rolls, with flavored butter, that meleted in the sun as we enjoyed our meal
1/2kg of spicy mussels with some fresh cracked pepper...
chicken sandwich with a mini potato salad on the side... so fresh
and fries with 3 dipping sauces... perfect fries
some more bier... this time I ended up with a tall glass, and Jay drank from the kings' chalice...
and one more...
