Dinner
Tonight Jay went nice and simple with beautifully pan fried salmon, on a bed of finely shredded lettuce, his beautiful rice salad, and half a lemon. It was delish....
she's good
Just look at the graveyard.... she made her first web in the middle window, but it got destroyed when we had some strong wind a couple of days ago. I thought she was gone for good... but a few days later my girl is back.. this time with a web on a side window, it seems to be working out for her much better... (just click on the pictures if you can't see the victims)
yumers..

Dinner: Friday July 27th, 2007
Guests: birthday girl Lisa, Rob (birthday girl's main squeeze), Kinga, Jay and I
This weeks' dinner was very special, because we were celebrating Lisa's birthday. Jay went all out, it was sooooooo goooood..
Drink: Clear Blue
- Stolichnaya blueberry vodka, white cranberry juice, soda water, and fresh blueberries to garnish
Appetizer: for me crusted baked brie on a bed of baby greens, roasted red peppers, and sauteed chanterelles
- for the rest of the group crusted baked goat cheese on a bed of baby greens, roasted red peppers, and sautéed chanterelles
Main:
- Kobe beef steak
- lobster double baked potatoes
- garlic sautéed shrimp
- sweet sautéed scallops
- baby carrots, sugar beets, and fava beans
The steak was unreal, excellent crust on the outside, and just buttery melt in your mouth texture on the inside, and the potatoes... mmmmmm.... I love potatoes.... We had an excellent bottle of red wine along with our main (a 2004 Syrah DeMartino Legado Reserva from Choapa Valley in Chile)
Dessert: Milk chocolate banana pudding...
- the presentation was so nice, but I totally forgot to take pictures, I remembered at the very end... so here are some leftovers

not a great start....
Woke up late this morning, so it's never a good thing when I have to rush, it makes me grumpy. Dressed the dogs out for a quick morning walk. Cherry goes to do her business for the second time, I bend down to clean it up, and wouldn't you know it that's the moment the sprinklers come on. A jet of very chilly water hits me squarely in the ass, it was quite a shock, I jump up move to the side and get a jet in the back. Oi... good thing about this little incident is that it happened at 6:30 am and there were no people walking around to see my wet ass, but there were plenty driving by, they probably got a good laugh... had to change my clothes when I got home... now I know it pays to wake up the first time my alarm goes off and walk dogs before 6:30...

The neighbor is getting big..
I think it eats everything that gets trapped in its web. I've read somewhere that spiders actually mean luck for the household…and in our last place there was a spider living outside our window as well. So I'm glad there won't be anymore window washings that would disrupt its web. By the time there is one this lucky charm would have retired for winter, hopefully not in my condo, the cat will eat it.
Flowers in the music garden…
