a day at Justyna's and Mike's

Justyna's and Mikes' babies

We went out for breakfast to The Bleu Turtle... this restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The chef bakes his own bread daily and prepares his own spreads, mayo, ice cream... and anything else that is on the menu... very small, and very unique...
milk and sugar for coffee...
the best cup of coffee Jay and I ever tasted...
Mike is not a coffee drinker and instead had juice...
and here are our breakfast choices
Justyna: two scrambled eggs with roasted Berkshire pork belly, whole wheat toast and potato
Mike: two eggs over-hard with roasted wild boar sausage, whole wheat toast and potato
Me: eggs Benedict with tiger prawns, brie, potato, and orange hollandaise on brioche
Jay: eggs Benedict with roasted pork loin, brie, potato, and hollandaise with brioche
on our way out, we noticed a bee having breakfast as well...
we took a walk in downtown Jordan...
some plants...
instead of gum, it dispenses rocks...
Justyna's Passion flower... looks plastic, but isn't...

later in the afternoon, Justyna prepared a beautiful cheese platter... yum
then we headed to Peninsula Ridge Winery...

we tasted quite a few wines...

Justyna and I decided on gelato..
I had red orange and lime...
Justyna had mango and pomegranate
later in the evening we went out once again for dinner (Justyna and Mike have great neighborhood restaurants). We enjoyed a great meal on the patio of August restaurant...

Jay had the evening's salad special composed of Heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and tarragon vinaigrette... very nice
Mike had the House Caesar Salad with a creamy roasted garlic Dressing, sourdough croutons, bacon and asiago...
Justyna and I had Baked Crab Cakes with Spicy Garlic Sauce... the shredded veggies on top were very nice..
Our main choiced
I decided on Lemon Scented Potato Gnocchi with Smoked Chicken, Roasted Peppers and Spinach in a Cambozola Cream... yum
Jay had the Roast Pork Tenderloin with a Cherry and Black Pepper Glaze...
Justyna enjoyed Saffron and Tomato Scented Seafood Stew With Shrimp, Scallops, and white fish, Served with Garlic Crostini and a Spicy Aiolli on the side
Mike had a very good looking Grilled Range Fed Beef Ribeye with Crispy Onions served with Roasted Potatoes and Vegetable
dessert was back at the house... Jay and I brought over a birthday cake for Justyna from the best in Toronto Rahier Patisserie...
there was a song, a birthday wish, and blowing out of the candle...
soooo goooood....
a great day all around.... can't wait for the ice wine tasting festival...
