We had a dinner theme although that did not translate to our movie choices... dinner was Jason's and Lucy's Chinese food...
Jay made fruit skewers for the drink of the night: Mai Taihe made a whole pitcher... so we don't run out half way through the evening...
pretty and delicious...
steamed and salted edamame beans.... our version of popcorn
three dipping sauces... from the left: sirrachi and mustard, ponzu-thai bird chile-cilantro, and sweet chili
all went great with chicken gyozas...
crispy chow mein noodles...
go great on top of my hot and sour soup...
some steamed rice
to compliment calamari in a black bean sauce...
and steamed mustard greens with hoisin sauce and crispy shallots...
for dessert Karolina's caramel and pecan brownies... so delicious and gooey...
we watched two movies.. my choice "Bon Cop, Bad Cop" very funny. I wish I spoke or understood French, something is always lost in translation. And Magda and Patrick brought an action flick "Equilibrium"... a sort of 1984/Matrix combo. I enjoyed it.
