499 King St. W. a brand new restaurant... has not been reviewed yet... has a very unique and fun decor... was incredibly busy... glad I made reservations... We ate so much it was amazing that we were able to move at the end of the night...
Chef's complimentary appetizer: sweet bun with tomato compote

Our drinks from the right:
Saki-tini - Asian pear infused sake and vodka
Red Dragon Martini - vodka, red alize, yuzu, ruby red grapefruit, and fresh lime juice
Mango Tamarind Martini - vodka, tamarind water, mango juice, and fresh lime
Orange Cold Spiked Tea with amaretto and vodka

Wasabi crusted shrimp with ginger and Malaysian mango dipping sauce

Crispy tuna dynamite roll with soy mirin and wasabi cream

Time for a washroom break. Washroom are individual rooms manned by an attendant, who tidies up after each person. It's a very nice view while having a pee.

The light is pinkish red and it does not show the multi colored bowl very well. I could have turned on the flash but the doors have frosted panels of glass and the garden view is shared by all other washroom rooms. I didn't want to be a distraction, but I might be next time.

Back to food...
Tempura calamari and rock shrimp with lemon scallion aioli

Dim sum platter: shrimp shui mai and buddha vegetable dumplings

Spicy stir fried eggplant

Seared Ahi tuna salad with baby greens, mini new potatoes, spiced dressing and wasabi cream drizzle

Pad Thai noodles with shrimp, egg, tofu, bean sprouts in tamarind sauce, sprinkled with ground peanuts

Sweet yam shoestring fries with soy sambal

another washroom break...

Dessert:
Mango and apple dragon rolls with pineapple strawberry salsa and Shechuan pepper caramel

Tempura banana with vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate drizzle, and sesame praline

Raspberry chocolate brownie with caramelized mandarins and tangerine cream

Lemongrass and ginger creme brulee topped with chocolate chopsticks

The restaurant has been opened a week, so we did not expect perfection. Food was excellent... service was lacking... It was incredibly busy and I feel they must have been short staffed... we were ignored most of the night... and I know that we had an enormous amount of food but one order was forgotten... we didn't mind we'd have no room for our dessert otherwise. It was a great meal, just the four of us (my sisters and I) for the first time. I'm looking forward to doing it again someday.
