surrogate piggy banks till we find a new one

I just don't have the energy to sort it, roll it, and count it... and I'm not about to take it to the sorting machine at Dominion, it keeps a percentage... I'm too cheap...

little bit of seafood on Good Friday

we went to Starfish (we've been planing to for a while now, we just kept putting it off)drinks to start: cream ale for Jay and apple cider for me... it was good clean cider...
our bread basket... I was glad to see variety
and a dozen oysters to start... 6 different types (2 of each)... each one had sightly different flavor and scent, and each one was delicious...
look how pretty...
there is quite a size difference between types... the little one was so cute, it was called Beausoleil...
the prettiest empty shell..
now for our mains... Jay strayed from the seafood theme and had a grilled bershire pork chop with oyster stuffing, 20 hour apples and swiss chard... a comment: the stuffing was not in the pork chop... it's the stuff on top of the swiss chard.... the 20 hour apples is the little rectangle on the left side of the picture... thinly sliced stacked apples... maybe they're baked for 20 hours maybe not... they were cold, but delicious... wish it was a bigger slice...
I had salmon with a leek, potato, turnip slice, cheddar cheese biscuit and Guinness mustard sauce... comment: more Guinness less mustard in the sauce please :), biscuit was tiny and over baked, but the salmon was perfect as well as the veggies...
sticky toffee pudding for dessert... served pipping hot (possibly nuked)... but it was soo good... we shared it...

I picked them up

look no shoes!

it's getting warmer, the ground is dry, there is no ice or salt to hurt their feet…

it's still here, but slowly melting
